Section 8 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act,85 of 1993 requires employers to provide and maintain, as far as reasonably practicable, a working environment that is safe and without risk to the health of their employees. This skills program is therefore critical, and it will enable workplaces across all sectors to meet their legal obligations relating to the provisioning of first aid care in the workplace.
